BTV is airing a series of nine plays adapted from novels. The plays were aired at 9 pm on the first, second and third Sundays of January and will continue the same way this month and in March, says a press release.
The series started on January 6 with Patar Shihoron written by Al Mahmud, adapted by Raju Alim and produced by Muhammad Sarwar. This was followed by an adaptation of Akrosh written by Khaleda Edib Chowdhury and produced by Rezaul Haque Al Kaderi, aired on January 13. Byathar Daan, an adaptation of Kazi Nazrul Islam's work, produced by Laila Arjumand Banu, was aired on January 20.
Miah Bhai by Ibrahim Khan, adapted by Akhtaruzzaman and produced by Mustafizur Rahman, was aired on February 3. Bhetorer Manush by Shahid Akhand -- adapted by Amal Saha and produced by Manzurur Rahman -- will be aired on February 10. Chandrahoto by Razia Rahman -- adapted by Falguni Hamid and produced by Muhammad Sharif Hussain -- will be aired on February 17.
Next month's attractions include Kalyanpur by Rashid Haider -- adapted by Arif Haider and produced by Musharraf Hussain -- to be aired on March 2. Shilpi by Abul Khair Muslehuddin -- adapted by Kazi Asad and produced by Muhammad Sarwar -- will be aired on March 9, and Protibimbo by Syed Waliullah -- adapted by Fazlul Karim and produced by Manoj Sengupta will be aired on March 16.
