Children's Publications at the Boi Mela
Of the 365 stalls at this year's Amar Ekushey Granthamela, also known as the 'Boi Mela', about 20-25 stalls feature publications solely for children. The number is fewer compared to last year's arrangement but then again, the total number of stalls at this year's Boi Mela is also fewer. Not too many young bookworms are frequenting the fair as of yet but the booksellers expect an increase in attendance in about a week when more books will be available.
Some of the children's books published on the occasion of the fair are Amazon-er Gohon Boney by Ali Imam, Tiarong Deeper Pori by Shahjahan Kibria, Shaath Dakat Aar Hatim Tai by Faruque Ahmed, Ghoomparani Mashi Pishi by Khalek bin Jainuddin, Shishu Kishor Golposhomogro by Jhornodas Purokayasto, Sheyal Mamar Biye by M. Sakhawat Hussain, Ahammok Number 10 by Shamimul Haque and a set of four Tom and Jerry comics by Arafat Khan.
According to the organisers, a particular day at the fair will be dedicated to children and their mothers.
