Alamgir Kumkum laid to eternal rest

Alamgir Kumkum, a noted filmmaker and founding president of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, was laid to eternal rest at Banani graveyard in the city yesterday.
Alamgir, a cultural organiser and former cultural affairs secretary of Awami League (AL) central working committee, passed away at a city hospital on Monday at the age of 65.
Earlier, his body was kept at the Central Shaheed Minar premises at around 11:30am from Birdem hospital mortuary where his family members, political leaders, filmmakers, film directors and producers, cultural activists, academicians and people from all walks of life paid their last respects.
Acting AL general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif paid homage on behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
