Sagar closing in on title

Reigning champion FIDE Master Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar maintained solo lead in the 29th National Junior (Under-20 years) Chess Championships with maximum eight points.
Sagar defeated Shamsuddoha Shakin in the eighth round at the Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room yesterday to keep his winning run intact.
Second-placed Shamima Akhter Liza, just one point adrift, beat Abdullah Al Saif to keep her slim hopes alive.
Rezaul Islam Babu, Saimon Siddiqur Rahman and Sharif Hossain were sharing the third place with 6.5 points each.
