Clarification
Dr Kamal Hossain and Associates in a clarification to the report "Police Ordinance: Ministry asks police HQ for further consultations" published in the February 5 issue of The Daily Star, said Advocate MA Wadud, an associate at the law firm, was involved with the drafting of the ordinance "in his personal capacity" as a consultant to the UNDP.
Wadud did not act as "a representative" of Dr Kamal Hossain and Associates, said the clarification.
The Daily Star report said headed by former inspector general of police and caretaker government Adviser SM Shahjahan, representatives from the Chief Adviser's Office, Ministry of Home, Ministry of Law, Dr Kamal Hossain and Associates and the police formulated the draft and submitted it to the Police Headquarters.
We regret the inadvertent mistake.
