NCTB to reprint textbooks
The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has decided to reprint textbooks for class six to ten for the current academic year on an emergency basis to meet the demand.
When attention of the board was drawn to some newspaper reports on scarcity of textbooks, the board in a clarification said that so far 1,93,32,104 copies of textbooks for class six to class ten have been marketed through 155 publishing or printing house for the year 2008.
"It has been observed from monitoring of the market that there is still more demand for the textbooks," the board said.
The board has asked the students, guardians and all concerned not to be worried. The board also requested the booksellers to sell the books at the fixed price.
