Torture on domestic helps

I have learnt from a news, published in The Daily Star recently that an organisation conducted a study on the incidents of torture on domestic helps based on the news published in different national dailies. The study says that at least 81 domestic helps were victims of torture while 46 of them died in different incidents in 2011. It also revealed the types of tortures and deaths of the domestic helps.
However, we know that a minimal number of such incidents are reported in the newspapers. So the actual number of such incidents would be much higher, of course.
Nowadays, most of the poor young girls prefer working in garment factories to households for better income. Some families treat them nicely while many are cruel and inconsiderate to them. And it is very difficult for a domestic help to reach the law agencies after she is tortured. Let us all be considerate to the children who work in our households.
