People to resist govt bid to bar Ctg march
The party's grand rally on the Polo Ground on January 9, following the road march to Chittagong, will witness a change in the country's political history, said BNP Standing Committee Member M K Anwar yesterday.
He told this at a press briefing at the city BNP office.
If the government tries to create any bar in holding the rally, people would resist it, said Anwar.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will address the rally on January 9 while the road march to the city will start from Dhaka on January 8.
Anwar said the prime minister only finds subversion in all the activities of the opposition. “But, she can't see the anarchy created by the ruling party student wing Chhatra League or assault of journalists by the ruling party lawmaker,” he added.
BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan, Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Opposition Chief Whip Zainul Abdin Farroque, Vice-Chairman Abdullah Al Noman, city unit President Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and former minister Mir Nasir Uddin were present at the briefing.
