Two Jubo Dal men killed in Benapole, Bogra
Two Jubo Dal men--one in Benapole and another in Bogra--were murdered yesterday and the day before.
Our Benapole correspondent reported that Patkahali union Jubo Dal general secretary Abdul Khalek, 46, was shot dead by his rivals in Dighirpar area under Benapole Port Police Station yesterday.
Hasan Hafijur Rahman, officer in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station, said Khalek was gunned down by his rivals while going to Benapole Bazar at noon.
Police recovered the body from the spot and sent it to Jessore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
In Bogra, Jubo Dal activist Aminul Islam Dipu was stabbed to death in Maikchal area of Sadar upzila on Monday, reports our staff correspondent.
The deceased, , 35, of the area, was involved in illegal sand business, police said.
Witnesses said some locals, including Hasan, Jhantu and Miru, stabbed Dipu in the area at around 11:00am, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to Ziaur Rahman Medical Collage Hospital where he died soon afterv admission.
AKM Khalequzzaman, officer in-charge of Bogra Sadar Police Station, said the Jubo Dal activist was killed by his rivals as he had a feud with them over illegal sand business.
Jobo Dal Bogra district unit President Sefar Al Bakhtiar condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the killers
According to our Natore correspondent, a suspected killer Jubo Dal activist Shafiqul Islam Sabuj was beaten to death by a mob at Bingram Bazar in Singra upazila on Monday night.
The deceased, Ruhul Amin, 38, of Bingram village, was an accused in three murder cases, police said.
Faizur Rahman, officer in-charge of Singra Police Station, said a mob caught Amin and Babul Hossain, 50, two suspected killers of Sabuj, at the bazar at around 7:00pm. They beat them up mercilessly and later handed them over to the police.
Police took the seriously injured Amin and Babul Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where Amin died at around 10:00pm.
Jubo Dal activist Sabuj was stabbed to death by a gang at Bingram Bottala village in Singra upazila on Saturday night.
