BCL men assault RU student

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) men yesterday assaulted a student of Rajshahi University (RU) suspecting him to be an activist of Islami Chhatra Shibir.
The injured was Jubayer Hossain, a sixth-semester student of RU marketing department.
A group of BCL activists led by Zakir Hossain, Hasan and Rajibul Islam, all sixth-semester students of the department, beat up Jubayer on the campus around 11:30am, said the victim and witnesses.
On information, law enforcers rescued Jubayer and took him to Matihar Police Station.
Zakir, Hasan and Rajibul, all admitted to beating Jubayer for his involvement with Islami Chhatra Shibir. He was involved with the campus violence on February 9, 2010 that killed BCL activist Faruque Hossain, they added.
Denying the allegation, Jubayer said he was not involved with any political group.
