Terosree massacre day today
Today is Terosree massacre day.
On this day in 1971, Pakistani occupation army, with the help of their collaborators--Rajakars, Al-Badar and Al-Saams-- killed 43 people at Terosree village in Ghior upazila.
The victims included the 'Zamindar' of Terosree estate and principal of Terosree College.
The Pakistani soldiers lined up the villagers and opened fire killing them on the spot.
Zaminader Siddheswar Prasad Roy Chowdhury and principal Atiar Rahman were also not spared.
After the massacre, the villagers fled their houses leaving behind all their belongings.
The martyrs memorial committee at Terosree has chalked out a befitting programme at Terosree College to mark the day today.
The programmes include discussion, mourning procession, wearing black badge and placing of wreaths at the graves of martyrs.
