Vote for Sundarbans to create jobs: Azad

Information Minister Abul Kalam Azad yesterday said if the Sunadarbans is voted as the seven wonders of the world, it will create more job opportunities in Bangladesh.
"Vote Sundarbans through Short Message System (SMS), so that it can earn not only name and fame; but also economic emancipation of the people," said the minister at the inaugural session of 11-day "Jatiya Sundarbans Manch" on Dhaka University campus.
Bangladesh Wonders Promotion Foundation (BWPF) and Khulna Divisional Association jointly organised the event seeking votes for Sunadarbans.
Campaign and voting for Sundarbans will continue from 3:00pm to 5:30pm till November 11.
Chairman of Jatiya Sundarbans Manch and Chief Engineer of Road and Highways Directorate Md Abdul Quddus presided over the programme.
Deputy Chief Forest Conservator Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, Managing Director of Oshan Group Khandaker Ali Azam and noted singer Fakir Alamgir were present on the occasion.
