Maoists violence unacceptable: Mamata
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday said that it was unacceptable that the Maoists continued to commit violence while her government suspended the counter-insurgency operation in Junglemahal. She however said that the government would continue the dialogue with the Maoists.
Mamata said that Maoists had failed to keep their word. "We suspended the joint force operation in Jungle Mahal. But they kept murdering people. This is not acceptable," she said. She was referring to some recent Maoist attacks on the Trinamool leaders.
The chief minister however added, "But we are keeping the door open. Those who want to surrender will be rehabilitated. Those who want dialogue with the government, are equally welcome. But they must leave the path bloodshed." Mamata dared Maoists to fight injustice and other ills of the society politically.
