Worker dies in bldg collapse

A worker was killed and another 15 injured as the roof of a one-storey under-construction building collapsed in Ashulia, outskirts of the city, yesterday.
The deceased is Asadul Mollah of Dinajpur.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and local hospitals and clinics.
Fire officials said about 30 workers were constructing a building for Sharmin Group, a garments factory, at Narasinghapur as the accident took place following collapse of a pillar.
Sirajul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said the body of Asadul was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue.
Asadul left behind his wife Aitun Begum, a worker of Sharmin Group, a seven-year-old daughter, and a three-year-old son.
