Nine teams to check unrest in RMG

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has formed nine monitoring committees to check any probable unstable situation in the garment industry that may erupt over payment of salaries and bonuses to the workers before the Eid-Ul-Fitr, apparel makers said.
"We have formed nine monitoring teams to check any anticipated unrest at 2,000 industrial units in and around the city," M Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, president of BGMEA, told the news agency.
The teams have already started monitoring situation in factories and it will continue till the night before Eid, he said adding that BGMEA is keeping close contact with intelligence agencies too.
