One held for Milon murder
The Detective Branch (DB) of police yesterday arrested a man in connection with the death of Shamsuddin Milon who was beaten to death along with five others in Companyganj of the district on July 27.
Billal Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) DB, Noakhali district said, acting on a tip off a team of DB police arrested the accused Shah Alam from a house at Char Kakra union in the afternoon.
Police is interrogating Shah Alam who runs a betel leaf shop at Teker Bazar, where Milon was beaten to death. He was detected in a video captured in a mobile phone during the incident, said the OC.
However, the main accused in the case are Mizanur Rahman Manik and Jamal Uddin, a Union Parishad member.
On July 27, six people, including Milon were beaten to death by angry villagers in the presence of police.
Milon's mother Kohinoor Begum filed a petition case with a court on August 3 in this connection.
