Dipali Saha's exhibition begins today
Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts will organise a week long painting exhibition featuring the works of Indian artist Dipali Saha. The exhibition begins today (August 12) at Bengal Gallery in Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
Around 30 paintings will be displayed at the exhibition, highlighting the theme of adverse impact of global warming and environmental pollution. Saha's works are full of symbolic significance with surrealistic settings. Most of her images give an impressionistic view with their use of various colours and eye-catching forms.
The exhibition will pay tribute to Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore on the occasion of his 70th death anniversary.
Sanjay Bhattacharya, deputy high commissioner of India to Bangladesh will inaugurate the exhibition. Veteran painter Qayyum Chowdhury will be present as chief guest.
Born in Asansol in 1971, Dipali is a Kolkata-based artist who received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Visva Bharati, Shantiniketan in 1995. As a student at Shantiniketan, Tagore's concepts, thoughts, visions and philosophy of Tagore have had an immense impact on her. She has participated in 20 solo and many group expositions at national and international levels.
