A young garment worker was stabbed to death allegedly by his cousin in the port city yesterday.
The dead, identified as Mohammad Lokman, 22, son of Mohammad Harun, was a garment worker.
Police arrested one Humayun, 23, son of Abdul Majid and Lokman's cousin, in this connection.
Lokman and Humayun used to live with other garment workers at a rented house at Shaheed Nagar under Bayezid Police Station.
Police said Lokman locked in an altercation with Humayun at around 7:30am over buying the breakfast.
At one stage Humayun stabbed Lokman with a machete leaving him seriously injured.
Lokman was rushed to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the on duty doctors declared him dead.
Locals caught Humayun red-handed and handed him over to police.
