Activate Jt Commission to enhance cooperation
Chief Adviser Fakhruddin Ahmed yesterday emphasised activating the Joint Commission between Bangladesh and Egypt to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, science and technology, and economy.
He expressed the view when newly appointed Egyptian Ambassador in Dhaka Fayez Noseir called on him and discussed ways for increased cooperation in the fields of trade and commerce, investment and manpower export.
Referring to a good number of Bangladeshi people working in Egypt, Fakhruddin urged the Egyptian envoy for recruiting more skilled and semiskilled workforce from Bangladesh.
The Egyptian Ambassador said recruitment of manpower from Bangladesh is increasing.
Referring to Bangladesh's open door policy for investment, the chief adviser said Egyptian investors could invest in Bangladesh, availing of the investment-friendly environment and attractive incentives offered by the government.
Both of them emphasised joint venture initiatives and investment in textile, tourism, pharmaceuticals and light engineering.
The chief adviser thanked the Egyptian government as a good number of Bangladeshi students are studying in Egypt, availing of its scholarships and hoped that this cooperation would continue.
He conveyed wishes and greetings through the Ambassador to President of Egypt Mohammad Hosni Mubarak.
Secretary to the CA's office Kazi M Aminul Islam was also present on the occasion.
