Second wife, her mother and neighbour held

Following the death of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) on Wednesday night, Kotwali police picked up his second wife, mother-in-law and one of their neighbours from Bagorkhola area of Dakkhin Surma yesterday afternoon for quizzing.
They are Moni Begum, her mother Surma Begum and their neighbour Hasan.
CMP Deputy Commissioner Rezaul Karim said ASI Abdul Haque, 50, felt chest pain after taking dinner at his second wife Moni Begum's rented house at Bagorkhola at around 10:30pm on Wednesday.
He was rushed to a private clinic in the city where the doctors declared him dead.
Haque married Moni a month ago. His first wife along with their two children lives at Kashimpur in Habiganj.
Our Moulvibazar correspondent reported that Sub-Inspector (SI) Monir Hossain of Baralekha Police Station committed suicide with a shot in the head on the premises of the police station on Wednesday.
Hearing gun shot in the compound of the police station at around 3:00pm, the on-duty policemen rushed to the spot and found Monir Hossain lying in a pool of blood.
He was taken to the upazila heath complex where the doctors declared him dead.
