5.8-magnitude quake hits Indonesia
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia's coast yesterday, the US Geological Survey said, although there were no immediate reports of damage and no tsunami warning was issued.
The quake hit at a shallow depth of 18 kilometres at 9.01 pm around 190 kilometres from Sibolga on Indonesia's Sumatra island, the USGS said.
The Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre said there were no warnings or advisories following the quake.
