Indian navy chief Admiral Nirmal Verma placed wreath at Shikha Anirvan in Dhaka Cantonment yesterday paying tribute to the members of the armed forces who braced martyrdom in the liberation war of 1971.
He also made courtesy call on Bangladesh Army chief Gen Abdul Mubeen at Army Headquarters, says an ISPR release.
Later Verma met navy chief Vice Admiral Z U Ahmed at Naval Headquarters, air force chief Air Marshal Shah Md Ziaur Rahman at Air Headquarters, and Acting PSO of the Armed Forces Division Commodore SAMA Abedin.
On his arrival at Naval Headquarters, Verma was given guard of honour by a contingent of Bangladesh Navy.
