Qatar labour minister in city

Labour and Social Affairs Minister of Qatar Sultan Bin Hasan al-Dhabit Al-Dosari arrived in Dhaka yesterday on a two-day visit.
Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury received the minister at Zia International Airport (ZIA).
Official talks between the foreign adviser and the Qatari minister will be held at state guesthouse Padma today. Following talks, a protocol will be signed to protect the interest of the Bangladeshi workers in Qatar.
Talking to newsmen, the foreign adviser hoped that the signing of the deal would "protect the interest of Bangladeshi workers as well as make way for recruitment of increased numbers of workforce from Bangladesh".
He also expressed the hope that the visit of the Qatari minister would strengthen further the existing friendly relations between the two countries
Expatriates' Welfare Secretary Abdul Matin Chowdhury and Qatari Ambassador in Dhaka Ibrahim Mohammd Al Abdullah were also present at the airport.
