8 killed, 27 injured in road crashes

Eight people were killed and 27 others injured in separate road accidents in Natore, Satkhira, Kishoreganj, Dinajpur and Benapole yesterday.
Our correspondent from Natore reports: In separate road accidents four people including three members of a family were killed in a head-on collision between a private car and a bus on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in Gurudaspur upazila yesterday.
The deceased are Rabiul Islam, 37, an engineer of Spark International Resource Ltd in Dhaka, his wife Tania Sarwar, 30, and their one-year-old son Tanzim Sarwar, of Pakpur village in Daulatpur upazila of Kushtia.
In another accident a motorcyclist Ibrahim Hossain, 45, resident of Gunaihati village was killed and another injured on Natore-Pabna highway at Kadamchilan area under Baraigram upazila at about 1:30pm yesterday.
Our correspondent from Satkhira adds: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured in a road accident when a speedy bus hit the motorbike on Satkhira-Kaliganj road at Tufan company intersection early yesterday.
The deceased is Khokn, 28, son of Abdul Hakim of village Basantpur in Kaliganj upazila.
Our correspondent from Kishoreganj says: a madrasa teacher Masuda Akter, 30, was killed in a road accident as her scurf folded with the wheel of an auto rickshaw on Kishoreganj- Karimganj highway Sadar upazila yesterday.
Our correspondent from Dinajpur reports: A motorcyclist Farid Hossain, 48, son of Md Azad Hossain was killed in a road accident as a speedy truck hit him from behind on Nawabganj-Dinajpur highway at Putimara village of at Nawabganj upazila yesterday.
Our correspondent from Benapole: Hannu Akhtar was killed when a bus hit his motorcycle in Abhoinagar upazila and 25 others were injured in separate road accidents yesterday.
In another accident, at least 25 people were injured as a bus overturned on Jessore-Jhenaidah at Baro Bazaar Mandartala road in Sadar upazila. Meanwhile, Tariqul Islam, 32, an Ansar and VDP Commander was killed as he was hit by a train at Nawapara Golapghat yesterday.
