BB governor to head new taskforce
The government has formed a new taskforce headed by the Bangladesh Bank governor to bring laundered money back into the country, according to a circular issued Sunday.
Last week the government annulled the previous similar taskforce formed by the caretaker government in 2007.
The terms of reference for the new taskforce include steps to gather information and coordination with foreign agencies to bring back laundered money from abroad.
Bangladesh Bank will provide secretarial assistance to the taskforce.
