You can use Rapid Pass on Hatirjheel buses from July 20

The Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) plans to launch Rapid Pass, the smart ticketing system, on all Hatirjheel circular buses by July 20, 2025, following trial operations which began from July 14.

Dhrubo Alam, Deputy Transport Planner at DTCA, confirmed the initiative to The Daily Star. Senior officials from the government and stakeholders from the transport sector were present at the beginning of the trial phase.

Technical support for the new ticketing system was provided by Datasoft.

With plans to expand the services in Dhaka Chaka, the Gulshan to Police Plaza bus service, in August, the initiative is designed to streamline fare payments for commuters. 

Rapid Pass allows for contactless transactions using a reloadable smart card. Since the initiative was taken, the Rapid Pass project has faced several delays over the years. Currently, Rapid Pass can be officially used in Metro Rail inside Dhaka.
