Saifur Rahman, director of Transcom Group and Luna Shamsuddoha, chairman of Dohatec New Media have been elected chairman and vice chairman respectively to the Education, Science, Technology and Cultural Development Trust (ESTCDT), the founding trust of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), for 2010-2012.
Rahman has been a founder Trustee of ESTCDT since its inception. He is the director of Transcom Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Bangladesh, involved in Tea Plantations, pharmaceuticals (SK+F), electronics (Philips, Whirlpool, Transtec), light bulbs (Philips), soft drinks (Pepsi), restaurants (Pizza Hut & KFC), distribution of consumer products, said a press release.
Transcom is also a leading media house in Bangladesh.
Luna Shamsuddoha is also the Director, Agrani Bank Ltd, Member Board of Governors, UCEP, Vice President Gulshan Society and Member, Brains Trust, Evian Group-IMD, Switzerland.
