Use of air-conditioners

We welcome the decision of the Power Development Board to resume power connection but on certain conditions and using air-conditioners only with prior permission.
In this connection, we would like to suggest that the use of air- conditioners may be discouraged as far as possible, and restricted to one or two air-conditioners maximum for an office or a residential house. Simultaneously, installation of a separate electric meter may be made compulsory and rate of electricity tariff may be raised by 100 per cent for use of air-conditioners in the interest of public service on account of acute shortage of power supply in our country.
