Pabna gets new DC, SP

The government has appointed Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Jahangir Hossain Matobbar as new deputy commissioner (DC) and superintendent of police (SP) in Pabna.
An official order signed by a senior assistant secretary of the Ministry of Establishment, informing the appointment of Md Mostafizur Rahman as the new deputy commissioner of Pabna came to the district administration over fax on Monday night, Pabna DC office sources said.
The additional superintendent of police in Pabna Md Mosharaf Hossain, also the acting SP, said, "Yesterday we received an order from the Ministry of Home, conveying the message of the appointment of Md Jahangir Hossain Matobbar, deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, as the superintendent of police in Pabna."
Earlier on September 28, the establishment ministry had withdrawn Dr AFM Monzur Kadir, the deputy commissioner of Pabna, after the long standoff over the untoward situation following the ruling party men's vandalising the recruitment examination for Pabna deputy commissioner's office on September 17.
The home ministry had closed Pabna superintendent of police Md Jamil Ahmed on September 28 over the same incident.
The establishment ministry also made additional deputy commissioner (ADC-General) Bijoy Bhushon Pal and the ADC (Revenue) Imam Uddin Kabir OSD on September 30 and appointed Md Abdur Rouf, ADC of Meherpur district, and Sajedul Islam, executive officer of Kadirabad Cantonment, as ADCs in Pabna.
The newly appointed DC and SP will join their offices in Pabna after completion of official procedure soon, said officials.
