3 arrested, 60 tolas of gold recovered

Detective Branch of police yesterday arrested three robbers and recovered 60 tolas of gold from their possessions, which they looted from the house of a former navy chief at New DOHS in city's Mohakhali on July 22.
Tipped off, police raided Lalbagh and Barbagh at Uttarkhan in the capital early yesterday and arrested Mohammad Selim, 22, Mohammad Tapan Islam alias Sohagh, 24, and Mohammad Akbar Hossain alias Roni, 23.
A camera and 50 pearl sets were recovered form Selim's Lalbagh residence and 60 tolas of gold from the possession of Akbar and Tapan from a house in Barbagh, said Mohammad Solaiman, assistant commissioner of the Detective Branch.
A Dhaka court yesterday granted them a three-day remand.
