Save Dil Afroz
Dil Afroz Rumia, a student of the Department of Physics, Dhaka University, dreamt of becoming a university teacher. But now her dreams are about to be shattered.
The 21 year old is suffering from the deadly Systemic Lupus Erythematosus disease and under treatment at Christian Medical College and Hospital at Madras in India under Dr R Subramanian.
Doctors said her treatment would cost Tk 25 to 30 lakh, which is too much for her father to bear.
Securing golden GPA 5 in both Secondary School Certificate and Higher Secondary Certificate examinations, Rumia was performing really well in her department.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique said, “She [Rumia] was a really meritorious student but now a deadly disease is about to destroy her bright future.”
“I have finished all my savings behind the treatment of my daughter. Now, I am unable to bear the treatment cost and it has become impossible for me to collect the huge amount,” said Harun, a small businessman.
Under the situation, Harun has appealed to the generous of the community and organisations to extend their support to save his daughter's life.
