Woman dies as concrete railing falls on her

A housewife was killed after a concrete railing of an under-construction building fell on her at East Rasulpur at Kamrangir Char in the city yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Shathi Begum, 21, wife of Jakir Hossain at Ali nagar of Kamrangir Char.
Shathi went to a super market at East Rasulpur to buy some daily essentials at around 6:45pm.
The incident occurred when a concrete railing from a nearby under-construction supermarket named Babul Supermarket fell on her all on a sudden, leaving her seriously injured.
Locals rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared her dead.
Officer-in-charge of Kamrangir Char Police Station Shafiqul Islam said no body was arrested in this regard.
DEVOTEE DIES IN ROOFTOP FALL
Meanwhile, a devotee died after falling from the roof of a three-storied mosque while going to say his prayers at Agamachi lane in old part of the city.
The deceased was identified as Abul Hossain, 60, a resident of the lane, went to roof to say his Juma prayers and suddenly fell to the ground at around 1:00pm.
