Manipur blockade continues in India
A two-month road blockade by tribal groups in the north-eastern state of Manipur has not ended despite the leading group calling it off.
The Naga Students Federation suspended the blockade, but other groups refused to back down.
They are protesting against a government ruling to stop Naga separatist leader Thuingaleng Muivah visiting his birthplace in the state. The blockade has led to shortages in food and medical supplies.
India's home secretary GK Pillai is due to meet officials from Nagaland and Manipur states to decide whether paramilitary forces will be used to clear the blockade of two key highways linking the state with the rest of the country - if necessary by force.
Mutsiikhoyo Yhobu, the president of the Naga Students' Federation, earlier told the BBC that the decision to end the blockade followed a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday.
