Many feared dead in Indian boat capsize
At least 20 people are feared drowned after a boat capsized in a river in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
The boat, carrying some 70 people, capsized in the Ganges river in Ballia district. Twenty-five people swam to safety but others are still missing.
Police said the boat was ferrying double its capacity of 30 people to a temple near Ballia.
Boats in India are often overloaded, which frequently leads to such incidents.
Most of the passengers on the boat were women and children, local police official Shivendra Yadav told the Associated Press news agency.
