Toufiq, Nadim end with gold

It was double delight for Toufiq Shahriar and Nadimul Islam as both grabbed gold on the concluding day of the 24th National Shooting Championship at the National Shooting Complex in Gulshan yesterday.
Toufiq, who had earlier clinched the 50m rifle prone gold, fired 1144 points to win the 50m rifle three position gold, putting behind Golam Shafiuddin Khan Shiplu, who scored 1132 to finish second.
Nadim, who won the 50m pistol earlier, also won the 10m air pistol event scoring 657.3 points while Iqbal Hossain finished behind him with a score of 650.5 points.
Apart from these two events, Iqbal Islam won the skeet gold scoring 103 points while Nuruddin Selim had to be content with a silver.
Meanwhile, Sabrina Sultana was the best performer in the meet with three gold in 10m air rifles, 50m rifle prone and 50m rifle three position and her feat helped Dhaka Rifles Club finished top of the table with four gold, two silver and as many bronze medals.
BKSP Shooting Club were runners-up with three gold, two silver and three bronze and Kushtia Rifles Club finished third with two gold, one silver and one bronze.
