Grand Master (GM) Enamul Hossain Rajib and FM Mehdi Hasan Parag both earned full two points to share the lead along with other 44 players in the 2nd SCS International Open Grand Master Chess Tournament that began Saturday at Bhubaneswar in India.
FM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar and FM Mohammad Javed have 1.5 points each. FM Abu Sufian Shakil, Debaraj Chatterjee, Abdullah Al Saif, Hafizul Islam Chapal and Md. Kawsar Ali Eti bagged one point each.
In the second round yesterday, Parag beat GM Anuar Ismagambetove of Kazakhstan, Sagar drew with GM Maletin Pavel of Russia and Javed drew with IM Ashwin Jayaram of India.
Razib beat Arjun Tiwari, Saif beat Satarudra Das, Chapal beat FM Mitrabha Guha, Eti beat Somu Gorai.
A total of 249 players from 13 countries, including 34 GMs, three WGMs and 27 IMs are taking part in the event.

SIX SEASONS CHESS
The first round games of the Six Seasons International Chess Tournament were held yesterday at Nayarangaj Club Limited Auditorium.
In the first round, WFM Shamima Akter Liza drew with FM Joydeep Dutta of India, Enkhtuul Altanulzii of Mongolia beat Nida Mishraz Siddiqui of Pakistan, Sharmin Sultana Shirin lost against FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman Emon of Basir Memorial. Seven players from India, Mongolia, Pakistan and Bangladesh are participating in the event. The event is being held in a double round-robin League system and International Woman Master norm is up for grabs from this event. Second round games will start today at 10 am at the same venue.

UNDER-16 CRICKET
BKSP and Sylhet will face each other in the final of the Standard Chartered Young Tigers Under-16 National Cricket competition after both teams earned first innings leads in drawn semifinals yesterday.
BKSP nearly beat Rajshahi North by an innings but the northerners held on to a face-saving draw after the sports institute made a mammoth 335 for seven in the first innings at the City Club Ground in Mirpur.
Rajshahi were first bowled out for 164 and then were 105-8 when the second and final day was called to a close.
Liton Kumar Das earned the man of the match award for his unbeaten 146 while Rafsan Al Mahmud also impressed with a four-wicket haul and 79. For Rajshahi North, only Bayezid Hamid showed substance, scoring a half-century in the first innings.
At the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium, Sylhet took a first innings lead when they scored 256-8 in reply to Chittagong's 130. The port city boys were 72-2 in the second dig.
Sylhet's Rahatul Ferdous turned in a stunning all-round show, capturing five wickets and scoring a hundred. He was given the man-of-the-match award.

SCHOOL KABADDI
Haidar Ali High School beat Sher-e-Bangla Nagar High School 82-56 with five lonas in the Standard Chartered National School Kabaddi Championship at the Kabaddi Stadium in Paltan yesterday. In the other matches, Shahid Nabi High School beat Ali Ahmad High School 61-45, Ansar VDP High School thrashed Khilgaon Govt. High School 53-17 while Jatrabari Ideal High School handed a 65-24 defeat to Nawabpur High School at the same venue.
