18 rescued while being trafficked to India
Eighteen people including young women and children were held yesterday while being trafficked to India through Bhomra and Benapole borders.
On secret information, BDR in a drive along Bhomra border rescued 10 children and five women.
The victims said agents of human traffickers brought them from different areas of Shaymnagar and Kashiani with promise of lucrative jobs.
Another report from Benapole said three young women aged between 17 and 19 were held while being trafficked to India through Muchibari of Baro Achra border at noon.
Sensing presence of BDR patrol team, the traffickers fled leaving behind the women.
They were brought by the traffickers from Mulakhan village of Narail district with promise of lucrative employment.
