Marine academy to be set up at N'ganj

Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan yesterday said a marine academy would be set up in Narayanganj to impart training to sailors and crews.
He also said the government has taken up a pragmatic step for dredging the silted rivers to restore navigability.
The minister said this while addressing as the chief guest the annual sports competition and a workshop organised by BIWTA at Barafkal playground in Narayanganj.
Member of the parliamentary standing committee on Shipping Ministry Nazrul Islam Babu, Shipping Secretary Abdul Mannan Howlader and BIWTA Chairman Golam Mostafa Kamal also spoke.
