Workshop on swine flu
A two-day workshop on pandemic influenza preparedness began in the city yesterday with a view to creating awareness on swine flu and to train volunteers in this regard.
The health department of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society organised the workshop where 30 volunteers from six district Red Crescent Units took part.
A total of 240 volunteers of 24 districts will be provided with training gradually who would disseminate the knowledge to the community people and thus play an important role in preventing swine flu.
Chairman of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society Prof MS Akbar MP launched the workshop while Deputy Secretary General of the society Khondoker Zakaria Khaled and directors and in charges of other departments were also present.
