The High Court (HC) yesterday stayed for four months the government move to evict Shahidertek slum dwellers at Sher-e Bangla Nagar in the city's Aagargaon.
The Ministry of Housing and Public Works on January 14 issued a letter asking the slum dwellers of Shahidertek to vacate the slums within 10 days.
The HC bench of Justice Md Momtaz Uddin Ahmed and Justice Naima Haider passed the order following a writ petition.
On February 1, Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) and four slum dwellers filed the petition.
