Patrons of militants to face trial
Godfathers and patrons of militancy during the tenure of BNP-Jamaat-led government would be brought to trial soon, Home Minister Sahara Khatun said yesterday.
She noted that several incidents of militant attack took place in the country during the then government, and political leaders were also found involved.
"We will bring them to trial, so that nobody dares to abet the militants in future," said the home minister at a reunion at the city's Siddheswari Girls High School.
She urged the new generations to come forward to make the "Digital-Bangladesh" a reality.
The minister earlier inaugurated the two-day celebration of the school's 75th anniversary and students' reunion. She spent the day on the school premises and met her batch-mates.
Shaikh Roisul Alam Moyna, chairman of school managing committee, and State Minister for Law advocate Qamrul Islam, among others, attended the programme.
