Body of boy found floating

Body of a ten-year-old boy -- found floating yesterday in the river Daira at Mithamoin in the district -- took the death toll of the Friday boat-capsize to 48.
The boy was identified as Sourav Chowdhury, son of Basir Chowdhury of Burburi village under Mithamoin upazila.
Meanwhile, a five-member investigation committee led by Joint Secretary (commerce) of shipping ministry Md Abdul Kuddus was formed, a ministry handout said. The committee will submit its report within three days.
The committee told the local newsmen each of the victims' family will be given Tk 30,000.
Sub-inspector Abdul Motalib of Mithamoin Police Station filed a case against five people -- two officials of the sunken motorboat and three staff of the launch that hit the motorboat -- on Friday in this connection.
Earlier on Friday, 47 persons died when a launch Al Helal-1 hit the motorboat on the Daira river.
Seven people -- Akhter member, Nithu Mia, Zinnat Mia, Shamsunnahar, Sanjida, Fulema, and Alawaddin -- are still missing.
