JP to take part in local body polls
Ershad-led Jatiya Party (JP) will take part in the local government election and contest all the city corporation elections.
This was decided at a presidium meeting of the party at Banani in the city.
Presided over by JP acting Chairman Anisul Islam Mahmud, the meeting was attended by 21 presidium members.
"We have decided to take part in all local government elections," Ziauddin Bablu, presidium member, told The Daily Star last night.
He said JP will also take part in all the city corporation elections.
"We are working to organise the party in this regard," Bablu said.
At the meeting, JP also urged the government to tackle the fertiliser crisis smoothly and demanded trial of war criminals.
