DU body for cancellation of 13 more admissions

The Fact Finding Committee on Admission Forgery of Dhaka University yesterday recommended cancelling admission of 13 more students as the committee found them fake.
Earlier, the university cancelled admission of 167 who got admitted through fraudulent means.
'The committee recommended cancellation of admission of 13 more students. It will also send show cause notices to primarily identified 33 fake students within 15 days asking why the university would not cancel their admissions. The committee will also probe the alleged involvement of UCC Coaching chairman in the scam,' said Pro-vice Chancellor AFM Yusuf Haider, also head of the probe committee, after the meeting.
Of the 13, three are from botany department, five from the management studies department, two from the public administration department and three from the mathematics department, meeting sources said.
Thirty of the primarily identified fake students are from public administration department and three from applied physics, electronics and communication engineering department, Yusuf Haider said.
The government recently asked the university authorities to probe the alleged involvement of the UCC Coaching Chairman Abdullah Halim Patwary in the admission scam, sources said.
