Chittagong Medical College reopens
Chittagong Medical College (CMC) reopened yesterday after 18 days of unscheduled closure following a clash between the activists of Chhatra League (BCL) and Shibir cadres.
Earlier, the authorities reopened its five hostels on Wednesday.
The college authorities took the decision to reopen the college and its five hostels at an emergency meeting of the college academic council held on Tuesday.
Principal of the college Dr Gofranul Haque said, additional police have been deployed in and around the campus to maintain law and order.
Earlier, on October 25, the college was closed sine die following clash between the activists of the two students' organisations over taking the newly admitted students of the MBBS course into the fold of their organisations and establishing supremacy on the campus. At least 10 students were injured during the clash.
