BNP trying to resolve conflicts

The BNP leadership is trying hard to resolve internal conflicts in the party so that district-level councils can be completed before its national council on December 8.
BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain held separate meetings with the leaders of Meherpur, Noakhali and Brahmanbaria yesterday to resolve internal disputes among the district leadership.
Supporters of different factions of both Meherpur and Brahmanbaria districts were locked into scuffles during the meeting between district leaders and the secretary general at the party's central office at Naya Paltan in the city.
The rival groups chased each other and chanted slogans in front of the office. Later, the party leaders brought the situation under control.
Delwar told reporters that all sorts of internal problems would be resolved before the council as all the leaders and workers are united under the leadership of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
