Khulna BNP faction calls hartal

A faction of Khulna BNP has called for a half-day hartal in city and nine upazilas of the district tomorrow demanding dissolution of the newly formed convening committee with Prof Majidul Islam and Sharif Shah Kamal Taj as convener and joint convener.
Leaders of the faction gave the call at a special meeting held at the district unit office Thursday evening.
Chaired by Molla Abul Kashem, BNP upazila level leaders, who belong to anti-Majedul and Sharif Kamal faction, attended the meeting.
Speakers demanded dissolution of the district convening committee and threatened to declare Majidul and Sharif 'unwanted' in the unit if the demand was not met as early as possible.
They alleged that dedicated leaders and activists have been left out of the new convening committee formed in Dhaka on Wednesday last ignoring opinion of the grassroots leaders.
