10 arrested for carrying fake visas at Zia
Ten China-bound Bangladeshis were arrested for carrying fake visas at Zia International Airport on Thursday midnight.
The arrestees were identified as Jahangir, 45, Anisur Rahman, 48, Shariful Islam, 26, Jashim Uddin, 32, Mostafiz, 23, Iftekhar, 25, Nurunnabi, 41, Kafurul Haque Chowdhury, 31, Abul Kalam, 36 and Salauddin, 24.
They were going to China to work in shipping lines.
When immigration officials challenged them, they produced fake visas given by 'New Funnel Traders' travel agency, which has no government license.
The arrestees told the immigration officials that the travel agency has got work permits to get Bangladeshis employed in shipping lines in China.
“But name of the travel agency was not found in the list of 19 government licensee holding agencies,” an immigration official said.
Later, the immigration officials handed them over to the Airport Police Station.
