Ex-BCL leader stabbed to death in city
A former Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader died yesterday, a day after he was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) with stab injuries on different parts of his body at Sabujbagh in the capital.
Meanwhile, police recovered a decomposed body of a teenage boy from the city's Mohammadpur area the same day.
Family members said two local criminals stabbed Salahuddin Majumder alias Khokon, 30, former BCL president of Ward No 30 (Sabujbagh) after entering his departmental store at South Mugda at around 1:30pm on Friday.
They alleged that Al Amin and Ashik stabbed Salahuddin to death as he did not withdraw an assault case that he filed against the two around a year back.
In the other incident, Mohammadpur police retrieved the floating body of Saddam Hossain, 17, salesman of a cloth shop, from a pond at Lalmatia yesterday morning.
Marks of stab were found all over his bodies, police said.
Saddam's father Mohammad Yasin told The Daily Star that his son went out of their house at Satmasjid Road at around 8:00pm on Thursday after his friend named Rana called him over phone.
