Pabna FFs demand war criminals' trial
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Pabna district unit have demanded punishment of the war criminals of 1971 Liberation War through a special tribunal.
Protesting the recent speech of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed, the freedom fighters demanded punishment of all the identified war criminals including Matiur Rahman Nizami and Mojaheed before the Victory Day.
“The whole world knows their [Jamaat men] role in 1971. People of the country know well who were involved in killing, loot, rape, arson and conspiracy against the country,” the freedom fighters said in recent statement.
"The war criminals are trying to give false explanation of the general amnesty to the people. It is the high time to punish the war criminals, which is needed to uphold the principle of the Liberation War," goes the statement.
The said truth and justice will not be established in country till the war criminals are tried. This also necessary to established democracy, they said.
Convener of Muktijoddha Sangsad Pabna District unit command Md Atiar Rahman Shachchu, joint convener Ali Jabbar and freedom fighter Makbul Hossain Shantu signed the statement.
